Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his distinctive style. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine has been born Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing and playing piano in church. Her music career started in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. She was named the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to serve as the choral leader for the production. Sunshine gained attention throughout the four performances during the The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine went on to sing at Barack Obama's 2009 Inauguration.
